Wellpark Brewery is home to more than 450 years of brewing tradition and award winning beers, a heritage that began in 1556 when Robert Tennent was a private brewer and maltman based near Glasgow Cathedral. Today, Tennent's Lager is Scotland's leading lager and the oldest ongoing commercial operation in Glasgow.
Tennent's have opened a new visitor centre, which is set to become the UK's biggest beer attraction. The Tennent's Story is an immersive experience that takes visitors behind the scenes of the famous beer, with motion capture animations, graffiti artwork, artefacts and personal stories.
Visitors can then set off on the guided Brewery Tour, seeing the entire process in action from refining the ingredients to the kegging, before enjoying a pint at the revamped tasting experience. Prices are £12.50 for adults; £9 for students/concessions and £175 for private tours.
Neighbouring Drygate Brewery, which also lives on the Wellpark site, plays a vital part alongside The Tennent's Story, the Brewery Tour and Tennent's Training Academy in making the East of Glasgow, the ultimate beer destination.
A range of Tennent's Lager merchandise is available to buy on the premises.
