The Zaha Hadid-designed Riverside Museum, voted 2013 European Museum of the Year, is situated by the River Clyde with its wave-like design symbolising the city's relationship to the river and shipbuilding heritage.

When visitors step through the great glass doorway, they enter a vast free-flowing space, split over two floors and showcasing more than 3,000 objects from trams, trolley buses and vintage cars to motorbikes and bicycle.

The majority of the objects fall into one of the museum’s 150 ‘story displays’, which tell the personal stories behind the objects and introduce hundreds of individuals: from bicycle-makers and tram conductresses to shipyard workers and fire fighters.

The Tall Ship, which is now moored at the Riverside Museum - a move that reinforces ships position as a major visitor draw and an icon of Glasgow’s shipbuilding heritage - is also free to visit and a fantastic attraction for all the family.
