Eat out in Glasgow for under five pounds

Here is a highlight of some of the best places in Glasgow where you can eat out for under £5!

Martha's

Marthas-995

A relative newcomer, Martha's already has plenty of dedicated diners and with good reason. This buzzing city centre outlet on St Vincent Street provides great value fast food with a twist - healthy, ethical and made on site from local and seasonal quality produce with most dishes on the menu under £5.

Little Italy

Little-Italy-995

A West End institution, Little Italy brings together the atmosphere of a traditional Italian coffee bar and pizzeria - at very affordable prices. The pizzas are the highpoint of the dining experience where a slice of the freshly cooked, thin crust Cheese & Tomato pizza only sets you back £3.50 - good news for the wallet, not so much for the waistline!

The Wee Guy's Café

Brought to you by the same people behind Guy's Restaurant & Bar, The Wee Guy's Café offers an extensive menu from coffees, breakfasts and pastries to sushi, sandwiches and salads.

A great spot for enjoying your lunch and people watching from one of their window stools or picking up some snacks for a park picnic.

Banana Leaf

Don't be fooled by the exterior - with a wide selection of great value and unusual dishes from the Tamil Nadu and Kerala regions, Banana Leaf provides a takeaway with a difference, and a great opportunity to sample traditional and authentic South Indian dishes that are rarely seen on menus.

Piece

Tom Lauckner and John Moore's gourmet sandwich bar and coffee shop in Finnieston, which opened back in 2008, serves one of the best 'pieces' in Glasgow, with Thai pork, coronation chicken and ham, egg mayo and cheddar sandwiches all coming in under a fiver. Make space for a gorgeous cake too, if you can.

Mint & Lime Bar

MintLime-995
Mint & Lime Bar (part of the Euro Hostel group) are launching their new £4 soup and sandwich lunch. Mint & Lime is the ideal place for a quick meal, relaxing after a busy day or meeting new friends. It is popular with local students and business people as well as international travellers giving an eclectic mix of personalities. Designed by one of the UK's premier bar designers, the stylish bar provides comfortable, relaxed and inviting surroundings.

Social Bite

Social Bite is a sandwich shop with a difference - 100% (every single penny) of their profits are given to good causes and 1 in 4 of their team are formerly homeless people. With great food at an affordable price, they also feed the local homeless community through their 'Suspended Coffee and Food' initiative.

We hope you enjoyed our pick of eateries, but don't forget about the many other great places to eat in Glasgow!
