The Best Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurants in Glasgow

We recently asked our fans and followers to find out where they love to go in Glasgow for some good veggie and vegan food! And having been voted as the UK's most vegan friendly city, you'll definitely find somewhere to enjoy in our list below.

Mono is a multi-functional vegan restaurant - not only do they offer a variety of vegan delights, but they also host a number of gigs, exhibition and events. And while you're grabbing some food, don't forget to visit Monorail Music and Good Press, both located under the same roof.  

Mono was voted the best restaurant at the UK Vegfest Awards 2014!

There's more to Stereo than meets the eye - not only is it a delicious vegan restaurant, but it's also a late night venue for gigs and club nights. Located in a beautifully designed Charles Rennie Mackintosh building, what's not to love?

Ushas is the city's only dedicated vegetarian and vegan Indian restaurant, located in the city's West End.  Choose from puri to pakora, all designed and inspired by Usha Bhalla!

Ranjit's Kitchen

Ranjit's Kitchen is a new family run Panjabi food deli with a fully vegetarian menu located in the Southside of the city. The ethos of the kitchen is to serve authentic Panjabi food just as you would enjoy in every Panjabi household.

La Favorita

Everyone loves pizza, and what better way to satisfy your cravings than the recently opened La Favorita, located on Gibson Street in the West End. They offer a wide variety of pizzas to suit vegetarians and vegans, - ask for the Italian vegan mozzarella cheese on top (it's been taste tested by PETA!).

The Project Cafe

The Project Cafe is a social enterprise that promotes creative and social exchange whilst serving delicious vegetarian and vegan food that's freshly made in their kitchen.  All profits from the cafe are used to help continue to fund the project and their events space, so it's good food with a good cause.

Siempre Bicycle Cafe

Siempre Bicycle Cafe can be found right next to Kelvinhall Subway Station on Dumbarton Road - this independent urban bicycle cafe offers locally sourced food with some tasty vegetarian options. 

The Glad Cafe

You'll find the Glad Cafe in the city's Southside near Queen's Park. Whether you're looking for a hearty breakfast, delicious lunch or sharing platter in the evening, you'll find them all here! Don't forget to try one of their delicious cakes too.

The Flying Duck

The Flying Duck is a homely venue tucked away near Sauchiehall Street - as a club venue you'll always find something on, but don't miss out on their vegan menu either!

The 78 Cafe Bar

Sister venue to Stereo, the 78 Cafe Bar offers a 100% vegan menu in the comfy surroundings of a coal fire, armchairs, sofas and chunky wooden tables. Better yet - not only is their food vegan, but their drinks are also 100% free from any animal produce.

Saramago Cafe at the CCA

Located in the Centre for Contemporary Arts on Sauchiehall StreetSaramago is vegan cafe, offering a full menu of fantastic food and freshly baked bread to boot.

Mother India's Cafe

West End restaurant Mother India's Cafe offers a great variety of vegetarian options including Chana Poori and Mushroom Pakora to name but a few.

Red Onion

Chef John Quigley at Red Onion offers diners a dedicated vegan menu that includes bang bang avocado salad, roast ratatouille tart, as well as a selection of deserts.  

Las Iguanas

Las Iguanas is another Glasgow restaurant that offers visitors a special veggie and vegan menu. Choose from Mexican classics such as fajitas, enchiladas and burritos!

Juice Garden

A relatively new edition to Glasgow's food scene is Juice Garden.  With a variety of fruit and vegetable based juices, smoothies, and cold pressed juices, they also serve a great range of yummy food too.


Topolabamba is another newcomer to the foodie scene, bringing some great vegetarian friendly authentic Mexican dishes, from taquitos to tacos.
